9. Exploratory studies on ultrasonic effect in chemical synthesis of polyanilinewith camphor sulphonic acid (PANI-CSA)

In this work, we studied the chemical synthesis of PANI/CSA nanocomposite using ammonium persulfate as oxidant under two different conditions of conventional mechanical stirring and ultrasonication irradiations. The synthesised PANI/CSA were characterised by UV-Vis, FT-IR, TGA, SEM, TEM, Cyclic Voltammetry and Electrochemical impedance analysis (EIS). These results clearly indicate that PANI/CSA prepared under ultrasonic irradiation shows highly doped state of emaralidine salt form (bright green colour). The electrochemical surface area of PANI/CSA nanocomposite under ultrasonication irradiation is higher than that of PANI/CSA by conventional stirring. EIS results confirmed the higher conductivity of PANI/CSA prepared under ultrasonic irradiation.
